I’m still very shocked and personally offended, that it’s already August. My god, this year has been a total blur. Summer seems to be flying away and I’ve only been to the beach and had a 99p ice cream, once… which is totally unacceptable. It’s also beginning to dawn on me that I’m the ripe old age of 22 in four months, growing one step closer to impending adulthood by the minute and I am not a fan.
Since I’ve somewhat spent the whole of July either in bed or at the pizza shop, I thought I’d start up my monthly goal posts again. Purely because I’ve been such a lazy arse lately and I need to get some sort of motivation from somewhere. So my logic being, if I write these posts which will be spread on the internet for everyone to judge my lazy arse ways, surely that’ll spur me on. So here goes…
1. Start to work out.
It’s official, I’ve gained weight. But what did I expect, lazing around doing nothing and eating nothing but carbs and regret? It’s not a substantial, huge amount of weight. But I think being someone who can only look at a slice of pizza and gain weight on her thighs, I can tell the difference almost immediately. So far, I’ve done a pretty amazing job of hiding it, due to my trusty culottes and mom jeans stash I’ve been stacking up. But enough is enough, because the minute final year begins is the minute stress eating begins and I don’t want to end up gaining even more weight. So August is the month of eating healthily and being more active (with a sneaky pizza in between, more than likely).
2. Shoot more style posts.
This is the blogging goal that I’m really trying my best to work with. It’s not like I don’t have enough content to shoot (believeeee me, I’ve got a terrible spending habit). I just haven’t got the time or the right photographer for it. Currently I’m using my boyfriend Nathan, he works full time and I don’t want to waste the little time we spend together always getting in a hump and being moody because the photos aren’t how I want them to be. To be honest, I don’t know if I’d even have the balls to get a photographer, I’d probably just look like a huge ball of awkward and uncomfortable. But yeah, this is something I’m definitely trying to work on this month.
3. Hit the big 2K mark on Instagram.
Now, don’t take this goal as me being like ‘oh my god, she’s so ungrateful’ because I can assure you girllllll, that ain’t the case. I am honestly so overwhelmed by the support and love I’ve been receiving on Instagram lately. I still act like a small child at christmas when I wake up to follow notifications, how sad is that?! Working my little butt off to try and grow my Instagram organically seems to be finally paying off. Being just under 200 followers away from 2,000. 4. Get a bloody bedtime routine back.
Hi, I’m Jen and I like to stay up until 4-5 in the morning and do weird things like plan a food shop or google best places to eat fish and chips in the North East. Getting into the habit of staying up late and not being able to switch off, is really beyond a joke now. I need to start to get a decent bedtime routine going before I head back to university next month. Otherwise it’s night owl life for me. If anyone has any product recommendations that help you sleep, please pass them my way!
5. Plan a year of blogging giveaway.
This is something I’ve always intended to do and SHOCK yet again I’m two months late with it. But this will definitely be up and running this month I swear by it. Making a poll on twitter I found that a lot of you would prefer beauty giveaways, so I’m on the lookout for the best giveaway products I can get my lil hands on. Would you love to win a certain thang? lemme know and I’ll see if I can work my magic.
