Well, looks like my last post jinxed us, sorry folks. Lets just scratch everything I said about signs of Spring and try to embrace the cold one last time shall we?
Yet again, British weather is making a liar out of me and that last outfit was quietly tucked back into my spring drawer, no questions asked. I swear this weather is getting more unpredictable than trying to guess who is going to let the cat out of the bag with Phelan on Corrie?
Since we’re all pretty much snowed in and hibernating, I thought it would be fitting to write a snow survival guide with my numb little fingers from the safety of my bed. If you’re not, I’m very jealous and if you’re commuting to work in this, I feel for you gals, I really do. And yes, I dragged my flatmate out into our garden purely to take some snow-esque photographs for this post and proceeded to throw snow in the air for the perfect shot which eventually landed on her, sorry Laurel. So without further ado, here’s a few things to ease those snow day blues.
1. If you can’t beat it, join it.
Go make a snow angel, throw a snowball at the window of that neighbour who complains about your persistent asos deliveries, or use the opportunity to take a few snow filled pictures for the gram. But wrap up warm! I’ve been clinging to this black hoodie for days now. I’ve always associated Nicce with guys and sportswear for some reason, but they do a pretty banging collection of sweatshirts for girls too, super snug and cosy and definitely needed in this weather.
2. Sashay, away.
I mean, what better way to wish the snow away with a good old Ru Paul binge on Netflix? team it with a small army of sweet treats and you’re good to go. If Ru Paul isn’t your thing, I’ve become quite the Netflix expert being the introvert I am, so if you need any recommendations, I’m your gal.
3. Seize the day.
I guess working from home is a perfect way to make a start on those looming to-do lists, from the comfort of your pyjamas. There’s not a better feeling than drawing a big fat line through those things you should’ve payed attention to weeks ago. I love taking days off to catch up on some of my favourite blogger posts too with a huge cuppa at hand. Some of my favourites this week are Pari’s blogging on a budget, andFlourish and Blotting’s first impressions of the dreamy new Nars palette.
4. F the rules.
Or if you’re a bit of a unmotivated procrastinator just like me, being snowed in is the perfect excuse to do a whole load of nothing. Want to stock up on junk food and eat to your hearts content? You’re snowed in! Perfect excuse. Or how about staying in bed and having naps whenever you fancy? go for it, there’s no rulebook for this sort of weather. Go wild and thank me later.
5. Treat yourself
Along with this weather, comes a whole load of dry skin and chapped lips that are dying for a little hydration. Crank up the heating, put on a face mask and run yourself a nice bubble bath, preferably with a good book to have a gander at. Snow days are the perfect opportunity to show yourself a little TLC and I know this is exactly what I’ll be doing tonight!
Thanks for reading, I hope everyone is keeping snug as a bug! *this post was sponsored.
